Darcy Poulos

Darcy always knew she wanted to have a career helping older adults when she grew up. She considers herself an “old soul” and from a young age had a deep love and respect for older adults. Darcy was especially close to her maternal grandmother, “Gram,” and her great-aunts and –uncles. Her maternal great-grandfather had Parkinson’s disease. Darcy is passionate about helping and serving people, making a difference, and helping to improve people’s quality of life. She is a firm believer in the importance of laughter and humor.

Darcy was a four-year collegiate tennis player at Ball State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Physical Activity for the Older Adult and her Master’s degree in Gerontology. Darcy completed several internships in nursing homes and assisted living facilities during her undergraduate studies. After earning her Master’s degree, Darcy became licensed as a nursing home administrator in her home state of Ohio. She completed her administrator-in-training internship at The Alois Alzheimer Center in Cincinnati, OH, the first freestanding dementia care facility in the US.

Darcy worked for several years as a retail pharmacy technician and as a stay-at-home mom to her two young sons. Most recently, Darcy worked as a care coordinator for a non-medical home care company in Carmel. Darcy first heard about Rock Steady Boxing from one of her home care clients who is an RSB boxer. Darcy is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Rock Steady Boxing team and feels like it is a perfect fit! Darcy lives in Noblesville with her two fun, energetic boys, Isaac and Enzo, and her sweet, loyal dog Lola. Darcy enjoys walking, traveling, reading, live music, and movies.
