Dr. Cynthia Fox, CEO of LSVT Global
Cynthia Fox, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an internationally recognized expert in intensive voice and speech treatments for individuals with neurologic conditions. She received her doctorate in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Arizona in Tucson. For more than 30 years, Dr. Fox has focused her research and clinical work on how targeted, high-effort speech interventions drive neuroplastic change and improve communication following neural injury and disease.
Dr. Fox has played a key role in efficacy research on Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD®) for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), with emphasis on how intensive voice treatment recalibrates amplitude, effort, and sensory processing in PD. She is widely regarded as a global leader in the administration and ongoing evolution of LSVT LOUD. Dr. Fox was the first to systematically extend LSVT LOUD beyond PD to other populations, including individuals with multiple sclerosis, and she pioneered LSVT LOUD for KIDS for pediatric populations, such as children with cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. Dr. Fox collaborated with colleagues to develop LSVT BIG®, an intensive physical and occupational therapy program modeled on the principles of LSVT LOUD.
Her work spans basic and clinical research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and global presentations. Dr. Fox is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of LSVT Global, where she leads strategic vision, research partnerships, and worldwide training initiatives. She also serves as faculty for LSVT LOUD, LSVT LOUD for KIDS, and LSVT BIG Training and Certification courses, equipping clinicians globally to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adults and children living with neurologic conditions.
